
Dick Clomén is Project Manager of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Project on Addressing Mental Health Consequences of Armed Conflicts, Natural Disasters and other Emergencies
Dick has been Head of Policy and Strategic Advisor to the Secretary General at the Swedish Red Cross.
He is an expert in International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law and for many years, he was Senior Legal Advisor of the Swedish Red Cross.
During his fifteen years with the Red Cross he has specialized in the field of protection – activities and programmes aimed at ensuring the rights of individuals under Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law and International Refugee Law – in particular relating to the consequences of armed conflicts and violence. He has been coordinator of the Swedish Red Cross programme Assistance to Asylum Seekers and an expert in refugee law and migration. Dick has also been a member of the Swedish Government’s International Humanitarian Law Commission (Totalförsvarets folkrättsråd) and an expert in other Governmental Councils and Commissions of Inquiry.
