
Eric Sam-Vah is Deputy Head of Delegation of PIROI and coordinates a regional programme for natural and health disaster risk management and climate change adaptation in the southwest Indian Ocean. Based in Reunion Island, he has been working since 2010 in Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mozambique, Seychelles and Tanzania on disaster preparedness projects and emergency operations.
A graduate of the Université de la Réunion and the Université du Québec à Montréal, he previously worked in the private sector in Cambodia, China and Reunion Island and as a delegate for the French Red Cross in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar) on health and disaster management projects.
