Gema Arranz Benito

Delegate at the Livelihood Centre, Africa Region (LRC-IFRC)

Gema is delegate of the IFRC Livelihoods Centre, as regional representative for the Africa region since 2014.

The Livelihood Centre is one of the reference centers of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, hosted by the Spanish Red Cross. During a technical assistance in 2017, Gema evaluated and capitalized on the “Mothers’ Clubs” approach that the French Red Cross and the Chad Red Cross are implementing and promoting in Chad.

Gema has been working in the field of international cooperation for the past ten years with extensive experience in emergency and recovery interventions, food security and livelihoods. Prior to that, Gema worked as a telecommunications engineer in the private sector for over 12 years.
