Juriaan LAHR

Director of International Operations, Netherlands Red Cross /Partners for Resilience

Mr. Juriaan Lahr is a Dutch National and currently serves as the Director of International Operations at the Netherlands Red Cross. He is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Dutch-government funded programme Partners for Resilience (PfR) and former Vice-Chair of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ (IFRC) Shelter Research Unit, co-founded by the Netherlands Red Cross. In 2016 he has been at the basis of the creation of the Netherlands Red Cross Data Initiative, 510.global.

Juriaan Lahr has over 20 years of experience in international affairs at the European Commission, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and also Private Sector. He worked in Afghanistan and Georgia with the IFRC, and has travelled extensively for the Red Cross to multiple country operations in all regions of the world. Juriaan holds a Masters of Law Degree from University of Leiden in the Netherlands.
