
Nancy Claxton is the senior officer of health promotion in the community and emergency health department of International Federation of Red Cross Red Crescent (IFRC) in Geneva.
Nancy has worked globally in developing community-based health literacy content, disaster preparedness materials, messaging guidance for short-term and long-term behaviour change and guidance across all continents. Since 2007, Nancy has worked with IFRC, National Societies, UNICEF, UNDP and USAID in the areas of health promotion, behaviour change campaigns, competency development models and tools, development of health guidance documents, frameworks, health curricula and e-learning courses and capacity building for general and health emergency response. Nancy is a published author of technical books, manuals and toolkits on the application of both deliberative methodology as a behaviour change methodology and in behavior change strategies for programming activities for staff, volunteers and community members. Nancy holds three Master’s degrees in education and public health as well as an earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction.
