
Ms Ri joined the Red Cross Society of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK) in 1999 and has 20 years of working experience in the Red Cross. She spent most of the time working with Movement partners including ICRC, IFRC and other sister Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Ms Ri has been involved in DPRK RCS Cooperation Agreement Strategy (CAS) process in the last 15 years. Currently, she is responsible for health & care program of the DPRK RCS, working closely with government health bodies (Ministry of Public Health, Institute of Child Nutrition, Academy of Medical Science), Red Cross local chapters and branches and Red Cross volunteers and health workers in the communities. Ms Ri has implemented a number of emergency operations such as international appeals and DREF and the recent ones are flood operation in DPRK (2017) and four DREFs on influenza A (H1N1), heat wave and drought, typhoon Soulik and flood and landslide in DPRK (2019).
